`Is this Me ?`

Such a strange experience attempting a self portrait and am still not quite sure if it is me. This painting is in pastels on pastelmat paper. Others have told me that it does look like me but that I have made myself look older. People portraits have never been `my thing` and I always struggle with them. Good to get out of my comfort zone and have a go at something different every now and then though. I entered this piece into our Summer 2026 Exhibition and the Judge (Porthcawl Mayor - Martin Rock) after seeing it for the second time did turn around and ask `Is this you ?` and awarded me most original for my first self-portrait. I wasn`t expecting that but am of course delighted
